Members are invited to join us for an intimate studio visit with Marlon Portales, where members will gain direct access to the artist’s creative environment.
Fountainhead alum Marlon Portales is a Cuban artist born in 1991 in Pinar del Río, Cuba. His practice, primarily focused on painting and installation, explores themes of identity, masculinity, gender, and transformation through figurative and symbolic narratives.
Notable exhibitions include Wild Nature (2025) at The Armory Show, New York; The Last Man (2024) at Spinello Projects, Miami; Poems of Nature (2023) at Pan American Art Projects, Miami; The Voyeur (2019) at 532 Gallery Thomas Jaeckel, New York; and Museum (2018) at Galería Orígenes, Havana. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions internationally, with shows spanning the United States, Spain, Germany, Italy, and Cuba. His work is part of the permanent collection of Jorge Pérez’s El Espacio 23 in Miami. He is currently represented by Spinello Projects in Miami.
