Fountainhead Residency Announces 2023 Selected Artists

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - October 25, 2022 - Miami, FL. Fountainhead announces its 2023 artist residency selections, a roster of 30 exceptional contemporary artists from around the world and working across various media. Selected artists will live and work in Miami in the historic Morningside neighborhood for one month while connecting one-on-one with renowned curators, collectors, and arts professionals and the Miami public at-large. The immersive residency program is designed to offer artists time and space to create work, be inspired by Miami, and nurture relationships and connections that can help artists thrive in their careers; fulfilling the organization’s mission to elevate artists’ voices and transform society through their work.

This year’s applications were thoughtfully reviewed by an esteemed panel of curators and scholars, which included Allison Glenn, a senior curator at Public Art Fund in New York; Susanna Temkin, a curator at El Museo del Barrio in New York; Rodrigo Valenzuela, a Fountainhead alum, visual artist and professor of photography at the University of California Los Angeles; and Melissa Wallen, the director of the de la Cruz Collection in Miami.

Founded in 2008, 2023 marks Fountainhead Residency’s 15-year anniversary and will celebrate a history of uplifting exceptional artists across varying backgrounds and mediums. To date, Fountainhead has hosted over 500 artists from 47 different countries, and countless U.S. cities.
