Fountainhead Arts Partners with PBS’ Art Loft to Distribute Artist Films

A selection of four films featuring 2022 artists-in-residence will air during the 2023 Art Loft season

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - January 13, 2023 - Miami, FL. Fountainhead Arts is partnering with PBS’ Art Loft, the Emmy® award-winning 30-minute program curating and showcasing the best of South Florida’s diverse art scene, to distribute four of its original artist films showcasing the work and practices of some of its 2022 artists-in-residence. The films will air throughout Art Loft’s 2023 season, which kicks off on Tuesday, January 24 and runs through the end of March, on WPBT and WXEL. Fountainhead’s partnership with PBS will allow Fountainhead to reach the thousands of viewers who make up Art Loft’s audience, and further its mission to elevate artists’ voices in the hope that their work and ideas can have a transformative impact on society.

Throughout 2022, Fountainhead commissioned local filmmakers to collaborate with its artists-in-residence and create short films about their work. Each film spotlights their practices and grounds their work within an issue framework that impacts society. Each of the filmmakers were selected based on how their own interests and practice aligned with that of the artists, creating a dialogue that resonates locally and beyond. The selected films consider how artists are responding to questions of globality, climate change and gender, and challenge viewers to re-frame their own responses to these complex issues.

Selected films and run times are:
