Fountainhead Arts Announces 2027 Residency Artists
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - October 12, 2026 - Miami, FL. Fountainhead announces its 2027 artist residency selections, a roster of 21 exceptional contemporary artists from around the world and working across various media. The selected artists will be the first to live and work at Fountainhead’s sprawling new campus, located between Midtown and Wynwood. During their month-long residency program, artists will connect one-on-one with renowned curators, collectors, and arts professionals and the public.
Fountainhead Residency offers artists the opportunity to establish relationships and foster connections that can help them thrive in their careers; be immersed in and inspired by Miami; and have time and space to create, research, and explore. The program fulfills the organization’s mission to elevate artists’ voices and present their work in a welcoming environment.
The new campus opens in January 2027, following 18 years at Fountainhead’s Morningside home. Roughly twice the size of the previous residence, it is organized around a central courtyard that connects a main house for living, research, and gathering with a separate private studios building.
This year’s artists were nominated by over 100 Fountainhead alumni and an esteemed group of curators working around the world, which included:
Storm Ascher, Founder, Superposition Gallery and the Hamptons Black Arts Council
Raphael Chikukwa, Executive Director and Chief Curator, National Gallery of Zimbabwe
Rosie Gordon-Wallace, Founder and Senior Curator, Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator
Marcela Guerrero, DeMartini Family Curator, Whitney Museum of American Art
Abaseh Mirvali, Artistic Director, viennacontemporary
Julia Morandeira, Director of Studies, Museo Reina Sofía
